Love it!! Your enthusiasm for this is contagious. About two years ago I woke up one night with the insatiable desire to write a personalized Utopian screenplay. It felt like an epiphany moment. My creative brain exploded with possibilities. But I was honestly afraid to take myself seriously, I haven’t really written anything. Later that month, on one overly tipsy evening, I word vomited my utopian thoughts all over an acquaintance whom I’d met a couple months earlier. The look on his face was total apathy and I woke up the next morning mortified for having barfed out my unedited ideas all over this person only to find out he was suddenly moving across the country in a week due to the pandemic. My Utopian screenplay died along with our budding friendship. That is until I came across your inspiring journey! And now that I think back on it...maybe my acquaintance was just discouraged by the state of his own acting/writing journey... either way, my point is you’ve rekindle this spark for me. I’ve never been engaged in an online community like this and I’m genuinely excited to be here, cheer you on, and explore creative utopias. You’ve thoroughly captivated my attention. ❤️

Absolutely love that wrap-around title. Can do some cool window displays with books next to each other at 90 degrees. :)

Gorgeous cover, Elle! Congrats!

In the early days of webcomics, funny stand-alone comic strips ruled the day, because they were largely being shared out of context via social media. Now I think serialized webcomics are more popular, because audiences gather on sites like Line Webtoon and closely follow their favorite stories.

There may be parallels. We’re in the early days of Substack and most users are getting our newsletters in their inbox. But if more folks migrate to the app over time, it could make serialized novels easier to read and follow.

That is such an interesting, and effective, cover design I don’t think I’ve ever seen a title that wrapped like that, yet reads so well.

Love your concept and the stretching inclusion of different perspectives on one theme. Brilliant idea.

Hi Elle

To prove it can be done (I'm contrarian like that!) I have just caught up on reading 'Oblivion' from the start!

If you, or any of your readers, would like to do the same with my music themed novel, you'll find it at: challenge69.substack.com - although I must admit the 'catch-up' will take longer than id did for 'Oblivion'!

Tim

PS While I'm on; there's a new UK based Indie band called The Utopiates, which, given their name, I thought you might want to check out (you'll find them on Spotify)!
